Elastic's Product Set

Elastic Stack can be deployed on-premise or as Software as a Service (SaaS). Elastic provides three commercial products, build on open-source foundational components.

Commercial products:

• Elastic Enterprise Search enables you to create pre-tuned searches for your website application of workplace.
• Elastic Observability collates and presents your logs, metrics, and APM traces, so that you can monitor and react to events in your environment.
• Elastic Security provides SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) functionality, to automate threat detection and support threat hunting.
  
  

Open-source:

• Elasticsearch is an open-source RESTful distributed search engine built on top of Apache Lucene and released under an Apache license. It is Java-based and can search and index document files in diverse formats.
• Logstash is an open-source data collection engine that unifies data from disparate sources, normalises it and distributes it. Logstash was originally optimised for log data, but has expanded its scope to take data from all sources.
• Kibana is an open-source data visualisation and exploration tool, which is specialised for graphical representation of large volumes of streaming and real-time data.
• Beats (open-source) are “data shippers” that are installed as agents on servers, used to send different types of operational data to Elasticsearch, either directly or through Logstash, where the data might be enhanced or archived.
